Walking in our lane...
It is so important that we learn to recognize where we are and where we want to go and identify what our lane is. Only knowing and walking in our own lane will we actually accomplish the great work set out before us.
With this, Grace and I have come to learn that in leading this program, we were both somehow tricked into "going through" this program. We both have experienced deep healing, heart restoration and most importantly sisterhood. We have literally walked the very program and process, we've laid out for the ladies we serve.
What does this mean? It means another fierce and courageous overcomer has found her wings and has been EMPOWERED to follow her lane and continue to create change. Though the role no longer looks like Grace serving as the Program Director. She will always be part of the family, the sisterhood of safety and breakthrough that we've built for each of the ladies we serve.
A little over 2 years ago, I found myself exhausted, overwhelmed and plain out burned out! I’d reached my own capacity and strength to do what I was so passionate for without the same joy I’d started with. I struggled feeling inadequate and like I had failed everyone around me. I needed a break but I didn’t want to abandon our mission or the beautiful women we get to serve. Like an answer to prayer, I met Grace, and true to her name, she became a lighthouse of Grace not only to me but every woman that came through our program.
We tend to make plans according to what we want or feel like things should be and sometimes they were meant for a season. I am sure changed and renewed from that season with Grace!
As hard as it was for both of us to come to an understanding that growth and expansion sometimes mean following your calling and mission separately with the same goal in mind (loving our girls). This has been the case for us. While we part ways professionally as Grace moves forward in a new endeavor outside of Masterpiece Mentorship, we continue to uplift, support and encourage each other through our beautiful friendship! I am blessed to have been impacted by the gift Grace is to this movement and to each woman that gets to be loved on by her!
Just like Tinkerbell and Periwinkle had to go their separate ways, they knew the sisterhood that joined them was for a lifetime. (Reference from Disney’s Secret of the Wings) Grace is my sister, my Periwinkle!
I am making this post to communicate the current changes and to encourage you, all of our supporters and followers to show her some love and gratitude in the comments. Sister, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
